Photography lighting plays a huge role in how your professional image will be perceived. I have a full set of professional lighting equipment that allows me to craft images in a way that speaks to your business and personality. Every professional headshot for business or for acting needs a tailored backdrop. The color of our background, level of focus, and environment play a huge role in helping us communicate your personality and expertise.
Often, headshot photographers only have 2 background choices: black or white. Sometimes, this is absolutely the right fit for headshots! But not every professional is the same.
Your headshot may need a color (even something neutral, but warm), or possibly an environmental background may work best (for realtors or actors, for instance).
No matter what your profession is, we will go over your goals before our headshot session and I will help you decide which backdrop and environment will be the best fit for your needs.

Are you someone who tends to feel nervous to have your photo taken? Maybe you don’t know how to pose, or even how to smile naturally for photos. This is something I can relate to completely. Even I feel uncomfortable in front of the camera and don’t really know how to pose my body so I look my best!
This is why I have made it a priority over the past 15 years of taking professional headshots to study posing and natural expressions (yes, I took classes on this!). No matter what your body type is, we can pose you in ways that make you look your best and feel great about your headshots. And looking great through detailed posing isn’t the only thing that matters! We also want to make sure we are communicating effectively through our body language.

Preparing you to look your best
Every professional hopes to look their absolute best for headshots. Preparation is key and I am here to help! I will guide you through how to prepare for your session.
Do you want professional hair/makeup?
We will talk about what to wear for headshots (and what NOT to wear for your portraits).
You will receive information about how to prepare your clothing, skin, and hair for success.
Every client will receive a Prep Guide with examples and ideas on outfits and everything you need to know before your session.
Delivering your images
Your full set of portraits will be presented online, giving you plenty of time to pick your favorites.
Your chosen images will be edited to perfection in Photoshop. My goal is a naturally perfect edit that will be timeless and clean.
Your images will be edited and ready for you just 24-48 hours after you have selected your favorites.
You will receive your images in high resolution, web resolution, and often in special cropped versions, such as for LinkedIn or social media.

The Brayman Real Estate Headshots Session was all about showcasing friendliness and their ability to stage homes in a clean, modern way. The homes that they tend to sell are modern and high-end, and their client base tends to be slightly older - often entering retirement.

We crafted a full set of images for these great Realtors by
1. Finding a location that would speak to their ideal client
2. Bringing professional lighting gear to our location so that the headshots and candid images looked extremely professional and high-end.
3. Bringing a clothing stylist, and a hair and makeup artist on site so each Realtor looked her absolute best. The clothing choices needed to be conservative, expensive-looking, and flattering to each Realtor's body type.
4. Posing the team in a way that was attractive, warm, and also highly professional.

Dave Pigott and his team needed headshots to represent strength and confidence for their Law Firm in a way that looked contemporary.
They wanted to be seen as a bit intense, skilled experts in law, and also approachable.
Having headshots with a modern edge was a priority to them to stand out as relevant in today’s world.

To create an edgy modern feel, we opted for bare concrete walls as the backdrop.
We used a celebrity lighting effect that is powerful, attractive, and commanding.
A forward, power pose combined with a confident expression gave them just the look they needed to share their brand and help their clients know they are go-getters who win cases, but are also approachable.

Valentina Lemes - Owner of Grace Nutrition Counseling in Orlando

Valentina Lemes owns a small business and needs portraits that felt warm, bright, and related to Orlando, FL. She is a nutrition and fitness coach, working with private individuals, and with the elderly in rehabilitation and continued movement.
She wanted her audience to feel at ease when they saw her headshots, and also have a sense that she is experienced, confident, and kind.

She needed a slightly tropical look to communicate that her business is run in Orlando, so we included a hint of tropical plants like palm trees and grasses along with neutral black and white tones (which are her branding colors).
Valentina's outfit, hair, and makeup were styled to feel approachable, natural, and professional.
Every shot, whether in the home or outside, was professionally lit with studio strobes that I bring on location. Pro lighting is normally a must in order to capture headshots in a way that looks professional!
I guided her through facial expressions that showed the kindness her in eyes and warmth of her smile. Her body language needed to show that she could be trusted, and also that she had confidence in her ability to help others.

I work with families to create studio-style portraits designed to be timeless and stunning. Whether indoor or outdoor, my family portraits will have professional lighting and are for up to 6 family members! I would love to meet your family and capture your memories professionally. My family portrait sessions happen only twice a year and tend to book out a couple of months in advance. Looking for Fall Family Photos or Family Photos for Christmas Cards? Get your call in by August to book your portrait session in early November. Only a handful of spots are open during each season.

Ok - Let’s address a very common question: Do you feel nervous in front of the camera?
With the photography techniques we will use, you don’t have to worry about how you are going to look in your headshots.
It’s not unusual for me to hear from a client that they don’t think they are photogenic.

I’ve even said this myself! I have areas that, let’s be honest, could use a slim-down… my skin isn’t perfect, I have wrinkles, and I don’t really know how to pose when I am on the other side of the camera. And with all that, in the end, I just want to look like my best self. I want to look GOOD!
I have spent the better part of my career learning best lighting, poses, props, and backdrops in order to make every body type, skin type, and personality shine. I never want you to feel ashamed of your photo or worried about sharing yourself through your headshot - my goal is that you immediately go home and post that photo everywhere you can! I want you to feel proud of how you look, and the best part is, we will accomplish this type of excellence in camera! While I do re-touch blemishes and correct lighting issues, our focus will be to photograph you authentically. We want your headshots to look like YOU.

For professionals, we recommend solid colors in general, lower necklines for women, and clothing that is very well-fitting. Avoid loud patterns, very bright colors, and pastel tones. For women, we also have a “what to wear” guide that we will send you a few weeks before your session. And remember - make sure there are NO wrinkles, pet hair, or lint on your clothing.
For actors, please refer to the “Actor Headshot Pre Guide” you receive after booking.

24-48 hours after your purchase, we will be in touch via email or phone to schedule your photo session. Haven’t heard back yet? Check your spam folder and if you are still unable to find our email, please contact us.

We will archive the chosen edits for 12 months. We do not archive images that were not selected for editing. It is strongly advised that you save your images somewhere safely on your computer and back up your images.

No-shows and photo sessions that are cancelled within 48 hours are non-refundable. If you find that you need cancel your session, let us know sooner than 48 hours before your session time to receive a full refund, or re-schedule.
